Royal Brunei (RB), the national carrier of Brunei Darussalam, is inviting applications for the position of A320 Captain. Rated and Non Rated Captains who meet the minimum qualifications are invited to apply.

A320 Captain’s Position - Requirements and Salary Package
Minimum Qualifications
Captain - Rated on A320
  • 5,000 hours total on all aircraft types (Fixed Wing Types Only Considered)
  • 500 hours PIC on Airbus A320 Family
  • Current as PIC on Airbus A320 family
  • License Proficiency Check as PIC on Airbus A320 family to be valid on start of employment with RB
  • EASA GBR, NZ & Australian ATPL (Malaysian Licence - subject to regulatory approval)
  • English Proficiency Level 6
  • Current Class 1 Medical
  • Maximum Age 61 Years on start of employment with RB
Captain - NON Rated on A320
  • 5,000 hours total on all aircraft types (Fixed Wing Types Only Considered)
  • 500 hours PIC on Multi Crew Glass Cockpit Commercial Jet
  • Current as PIC on Glass Cockpit Commercial Jet
  • License Proficiency Check as PIC on a Glass Cockpit Commercial Jet to be valid on start of employment with RB
  • EASA GBR ATPL (Malaysian Licence – subject to regulatory approval)
  • English Proficiency Level 6
  • Current Class 1 Medical
  • Maximum Age 59 Years on start of employment with RB
Salary Package – Cash and Non-Cash Elements*
  • Salary* - A starting annual average salary of up to approximately BND 165,000 (approx. USD 122,222).
  • Accommodation – BND 26,400 (approx. USD 19,555)
  • Education* – Education allowance of up to BND 14,400 (approx. USD 10,666) available per child, for up to three children in Overseas or Local.
  • Leave* – 57 calendar days of Leave entitlement per year.
  • Rosters – The roster program is based very closely to UK CAA CAP 371.
  • Medical – Medical Leave Entitlement of 14 days per calendar year. There is also Outpatient and Hospitalisation reimbursement available for spouse and children.
  • Insurance – RB provides for Loss of License Insurance, Group Personal Accident, & Travel, Group Hospital & Surgery and Workmen’s Compensation Insurance. Preferential rates for additional coverage of spouse and children are also available.
  • Privilege Travel* – Staff travel benefits available.
  • Car Loan* – Interest free Car Loan available.
  • Club Membership benefits.
  • Airport Parking.
  • Bonding – Only NON-Rated Captains can expect to be bonded for 3 years.
